Angel Hotel and Abbey Gardens Wedding

I am always excited about capturing the first wedding of the year. The 2024 wedding season began for me with the wedding of the lovely Izumi and Richard. The couple chose to get married at St Peter and St Mary Church in Stowmarket, with a reception at the newly renovated The Vaults, The Angel Hotel, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

A small, intimate occasion for close friends and family with an international feel, Izumi’s family and friends travelling all the way from her native Japan. I think my suggestion to add a Japanese touch with some cherry blossom confetti went down well with the couple.

Despite forecasts of rain in the afternoon, we were really lucky with the weather. On arrival in Bury we were treated to some gorgeous evening sunlight for photos of the couple in Abbey Gardens. The Vaults provided a perfect venue for the guests to relax, enjoy each other’s company and sit down for a lovely meal at the end of the day.
